How This Was Achieved

How I Increased The Social Media Organic Hits By Over 80% In 12 Months At South Moor Golf Club To Over 1 Million.

  

  • From March 2025 to February 2026, South Moor’s Facebook page achieved over 1,000,000 hits, an increase of more than 800,000 from the previous 12 month period. This was achieved by linking my website and my social media accounts (Which have had over 7 million views since 2019) to South Moor’s Facebook Page. I then designed over 400 posts

  

  • From March 2025 to February 2026, South Moor’s Facebook page achieved over 1,000,000 hits, an increase of more than 800,000 from the previous 12 month period. This was achieved by linking my website and my social media accounts (Which have had over 7 million views since 2019) to South Moor’s Facebook Page. I then designed over 400 posts to South Moor’s Facebook page targeting all areas of the golf industry especially locally, the algorithms then allowed South Moor visible to more customers, viewers, members and golf enthusiasts.


  • We have gained 1,000 new followers (a 40% increase since the page started in August 2013), making South Moor one of the most-viewed golf clubs on Facebook in the UK.


  • Both South Moor Golf Club and Steven McDonnell PGA Advanced Golf  Coach now appear in the Top 10 Google rankings when searching for a “Golf Professional in County Durham” — an achievement that would typically take years to reach never mind just a few months.


  • I regained control of South Moor’s Google business account, allowing us to display accurate hours and availability. This has directly generated thousands of pounds in extra green fees, particularly on Mondays, which had previously been listed as “closed.”


  • I’ve personally dedicated over 1,000 hours to digital marketing, website updates, and content creation for South Moor Golf Club — work that would cost the club in excess of £50,000 if outsourced, and likely would not have delivered the same results.


These efforts have had a clear and measurable financial benefit for South Moor, increasing memberships, visitor numbers, and overall visibility.
